Data sources and accuracy
Pricing, dividend, and security metadata on Fire Tools come from third-party market data providers. We refresh prices and dividend history daily after US market close. Despite our best efforts, data may occasionally be delayed, missing, or wrong. Verify any number that drives a real decision against your brokerage or a direct provider statement. Fire Tools makes no warranty as to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any data displayed.
Projections are estimates
Income projections, retirement runways, and growth rates shown on Fire Tools rely on assumptions you provide (contribution rates, growth rates, time horizons) combined with historical data. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Markets and dividends are volatile; actual outcomes may differ materially from projections. Use projection figures as one input to a broader plan, not as a forecast.
Affiliate relationships
Fire Tools does not currently have affiliate or paid referral relationships with any brokerage, fund issuer, or financial institution covered on this site. If that changes, we will disclose the relationship clearly on this page and at the point of recommendation. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of any security.
Founder Edition and Pro subscriptions
Founder Edition deposits and Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Founder Edition deposits are refundable any time before launch via the link in your confirmation email or by emailing info@fire-tools.com. The full refund window and terms are documented in our Terms & Conditions.
Personal positions
John (Fire Tools' founder) personally holds many of the securities that appear on Fire Tools, including but not limited to the broad-market ETFs and dividend-focused ETFs used in example portfolios on this site. He receives dividends from these positions. This is disclosed both as transparency and because we believe writing about and building tooling for investments you actually hold is the only honest way to do it.
