FAQ
How does this dividend calculator work?
Enter your shares (or dollar investment) and the calculator pulls real trailing twelve month (TTM) yield, payment frequency, and 5-year dividend growth rate for each ETF. It then projects monthly, quarterly, and annual income, with optional DRIP compounding.
How is dividend income calculated?
Annual dividend income equals shares times trailing twelve month dividend per share. The calculator converts this to monthly or quarterly totals based on each ETF's actual payment schedule, so lumpy quarterly payers show up as a larger number in their payment months.
What is DRIP and should I turn it on?
DRIP stands for Dividend Reinvestment Plan. With DRIP on, each payment buys new shares at the current price, which compounds income over time. Turn it off if you plan to live on the income or reinvest manually.
How accurate are the projections?
Projections use the most recent TTM yield and 5-year dividend growth rate. Real future income depends on the fund's actual dividend decisions, price movement, and taxes. Projections are not guarantees.
Is the dividend calculator free?
Yes. All Fire Tools calculators are free, with no login required. Data refreshes daily on market days.
Can I compare multiple ETFs?
Yes. Add as many ETFs as you want. The calculator totals income across all of them and charts each fund's contribution to your overall payout.
